Got down there with plenty of time to spare-so we thought. We parked pretty close to where we did last time we had a race at Green Lake and headed off in search of the registration area to pick up our stuff. We traipse halfway around Green Lake and pick up our stuff. Then we start the trek back to the truck to put our stuff away and change into our running shoes. We get back to the truck and think we don't have enough time to get back for the start to we figure, ok, we'll drive over there and find a place to park closer. BIG mistake. They'd already blocked the road off and we couldn't go in that direction, so we had to go the opposite way. The opposite way provided NO way to turn back into the park or surrounding areas, and we kept going and going and going...toward Seattle. We gave up and totally missed the race...lol. Instead we headed to Whole Foods and I picked up a few things(Beeler Bacon !!!) and then went for lunch. We were planning to meet my internet bud Donna at the race, but that obviously didn't happen, so instead she met us for lunch. I found this place last year and wanted to take Bill there, but when we went on New Year's Day, they were closed!! We got there and it was still early, so Rochelle and I went for a run in the residential neighborhood nearby-that had some god awful hills that sucked big time! Then we had lunch with Donna at Philly Fevre. Rochelle is a PA girl and gave them her stamp of approval, so I'll be sure to take Bill back once he gets home.
Here's lunch:
And Donna, me and Rochelle-
