When I started training for my first marathon, I was reading the Non Runners Guide to Marathon Training. One of the things I took away from it was as part of your training to tell people you were training for a marathon-that it made it real, and that it made you accountable.
I am going to run an ultra marathon. I have my sights set on the Great Cranberry Island Ultra in Maine in summer 2013.
Working back very slowly from several things...being burned out from 3 marathons in 2 months(yes, I know some of my Maniac counterparts run away more than that, but it did burn me out); then several life changes-the man retiring and us moving cross country; which lead to my other challenge-learning to run in unbearable heat and humidity(still working on that one lol).
I will chronicle my progress over the next year. Lots of races and training runs between now and then lol.
This week I signed up to test out the soft cup (that should be interesting lol) and blog about it to get a race entry paid; and I entered to change the face of UnderArmour Women by putting out there that I will complete my first ultra marathon.
