Quilting

I am sad to say, I am not among the most creative, artistic, etc. My mom sews, my grandmother sews and quilts, and my greatgrandmother quilted(I think both of them). We have a small crib sized quilt that my grandmother made for her first greatgrandchild. My mom also has put away in the cedar chest, a quilt that my greatgrandmother made when she was a teenager I believe. She did a square for each state with the state flower-but when she made it, there were only 48 states! Growing up military, not usually around them to learn-or mom was deployed and just other stuff kept us busy. I decided if I can't learn to quilt from those figures in my life, I can at least take it it upon myself to their art. I signed up for a quilting class today! Here's hoping I don't quilt my thumb!
