Friday Night Fun
Here I sit at home on a Friday night quilting! I swear I'm 32 and not 62...lol. I was very excited as my sewing machine was delivered today. I initially went to the quilt shop to have my teacher from class help me get set up, but they were already closed. So back home I went and got it going myself. I sewed my first pieces together and realized my stitch wasn't even and the width it was supposed to be all the way down so I ripped the seam out and got some scraps. I practiced on the scraps till I felt a little more comfortable and confident with my machine. Then I went to town! I got 4 more blocks done. I'd have kept working, but that was all that I had cut out. I'll work on cutting more tomorrow and hopefully get more done. I'm especially proud as the machine I'd been using in class, the teacher put a piece of moleskin down to use a guide to help keep our stitches even. I didn't have that on mine(though I'll certainly be asking her for a piece as it does make it easier), but they all still came out looking good! The pictures below are my favorite block tonight-and I think one of my favorites so far; as well as a pic of the 4 from tonight all together-it actually looks like it might be a quilt one day!!
