I can sew!!!

I have never done anything with a sewing machine. Unless you count sitting in the big ol' boxy lid from my grandmother's old sewing machine, and rocking back and forth in it since the handle made it wobbley-which let me tell, is not a wise thing, and I have the scar in my eyebrow to prove it from where I wobbled too much and fell into my grandmother's china hutch. For the first time tonight, I sewed something. I made my very first squares for my very first block for my very first quilt!! Once our teacher showed me what to do, which admittedly is nothing too exciting...straight line...lol, but once she told me what to do, I was off and running! I certainly won't be sewing my dress for the Navy Ball anytime soon, but I can definitely do more than I could at 6 o'clock! Here are the (partial) fruits of my labor, as I have to complete this square still , and then make the next one, before my class next week.
