621

That would be my bib number for the Portland Marathon. Yep, I did it, took the plunge and registered! I figured registering and telling people will be a huge motivator to train-especially on the days I don't want to get out there and run. Reading a book that says to say 'but it doesn't matter' whenever there is something negative in training...it's cold/windy/rainy...but it doesn't matter; I don't like to run hills...but it doesn't matter, etc.

A few years ago, I wouldn't have thought I could run around the block-and I certainly didn't have any desire to. I used to joke, I had no need to run unless a man in a hockey mask, with a machete was chasing me. I can run for miles now-albeit it slow miles, but now, if machete wielding, hockey mask wearing maniac is chasing me, I don't have to run fast, I just have to run faster than whoever is with me and with the exception of Rochelle, my friends don't run hahaha. But here I am, running and running and having the desire to complete a marathon.

So Portland, here I come!
