Nice easy, flat run today, mostly on compacted gravel trails. It was chilly waiting for the race to start, which is the norm it seems, and a bit windy when we were on the roadside till we got into the trails and were sheltered by the trees. Once I started running, warmed up really quick as usual. Pretty uneventful run-not even any tulips!! What kind of crap is that I ask you...no tulips at the Tulip Run?? OK, well, I did get a tulip when I crossed the finish line, but that was it.
Here's my lone little tulip:

I did decide it was a good idea to test out my gaiters. Since most of the course had crushed rocks on the trails, and I seem to always find the little pebbles even when running on the pavement, I knew I'd been in for a bunch of pit stops to get rocks out of my shoes otherwise. They were AWESOME! LOVE them, not a single rock in my shoes!

And of course, my usual post run beverage...chocolate milk! It does a body good!
