I missed yesterday so today is a double, but I'm going to link them.
Books and the library, and my Kindle.
I have loved books and libraries as long as I can remember. Books were my most constant companion as a child, they were always there-and even now as an adult, I can always turn to a book for an escape, or to learn something. I can remember waiting anxiously for library day in school so I could a new book. And also loving when the bookmobile came to visit in summer!! Upon moving to a new location-even as an adult, a library card was the first thing I would get(and that held true even with this last and final move lol).
My Kindle is fantastic. I was very anti e-readers for the longest time. I truly love books. The feel of them, the look of them on shelves-especially when you have a whole set of an aurhor or a particular series, the smell of them. I did not want to give those things up in favor of my Kindle-or so I though. I truly can't think of what's not to love!! The weight of it-more than once, I've conked myself on the head with a book when I'd fall asleep reading in bed. Toting that around in my purse is a lot lighter than a book(or two). I will freely embrace and admit to being lazy when it comes to reading-I like to bundle under a blanket and not move. With a regular book, you often have body parts sticking out and getting cold, are constantly having to adjust, turn pages, etc. With a Kindle you can hold your book through a blanket, be completely warm and never have to move more than the flick of a thumb to turn the page. I like how readily available books are-both in general if I want something new, or when I'm done and want to move on to another book. And now you can check out library books on your Kindle!!
