No treadmilll today

My usual training routine has me running 4 days a week.  I opt to do my runs on Mon(short), Wed(medium), Thur(short) and Sat(long).  I usually do my long training runs on Sat, so that way I have a full rest/recovery day before and after.  I like having the full rest day prior to my medium distance run and then the following day is a short recovery run.  Thur is always the suckiest day.  It's the 3rd day of running for the week, there's no rest/recovery before it.  Today's measly 1.5 miles(I told you, I'm building from the ground up), my calves were screaming!!!  It was quite a familiar feeling that I've felt on man a Thur before.  Guess I better get used to it and embrace it in the coming months.

Even with the burning screaming calves, it was a good run!!  Nice pace(for me).  Outside along the water.  Saw an otter that was almost up on the roadside and headed for the rocks near the water as soon as he saw me.  Of course, one of the few times I don't have my camera.  It's just as well, it was probably rabid anyway(like the kitten, skunk, beaver and bat in our county/state recently).

Was about a quarter mile into my run, had my headphones on, was getting into my groove when I hear something and I look over and there's a car heading the same direction I am and he's talking to me.  Ummm, ok?!  I take my headphones off and he starts quizzing me on if I'm training for a marathon and how I should run Marine Corps(that's prob on my to do list for next year), and that's he apparently run 25 marathons.  Wished me good luck, waved, and drover off.

Oh and the landscapers were nice to me too...they were doing the grass at the golf course(my start/finish point) and along the roadside...big honking tractors with bush hogs on the back.  They stopped for me so they weren't slinging grass at me, and waved.
