Today, Nov 10, I am thankful for my dogs. Both the ones I have now, and all the ones I was lucky enough to have in my life growing up. From Prince and Duke, my grandmother's dachshunds that used to lay guard over me on my baby blanket and spurned a lifelong love of wieners; to Bandit, the best little cockapoo-he looked like a mini sheepdog, had springs in his butt and loved beer, chewing tobacco and red hot potato chips and feared 'the great heater god'. All the way to my 2 loveable mutts now...Corona, the pit bull/retriever mix trapped in the body of a mini dachshund and Jaeger, my 75lb lap dog of a black lab. They love so much that it doesn't matter if I'm gone overnight, to the store or just out to the garage, they have such excitement upon my return that it will make any mood instantly a good one.

'He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe him to be worthy of such devotion.'
