2 more weeks

I can feel myself finding my happy place again.

Two weekends ago, I headed up to NY for the Long Island Divas Half.  It was my 25th half marathon.  Unfortunately, I got sick a day or two before I left, and wound up doing the race feeling like crap, walked a fair amount of it.  Did get a big beautiful piece of bling though!  And got to spend a wonderful feel with my friend Danielle...got to share some of my heritage with her too, made dinner on Friday night-pancit, lumpia and BBQ chicken.  Yumm good stuff!

me and Danielle before the Divas Half

It's always fun being a Half Fanatic and wearing identifying items at races-you get other Fanatics who come up and talk to you.  Ran into several of them before and during the race.  My Ragnar tat also garnered a few more chatting with me.

Divas was a nice race...all women, a sea of pink lol.  We got tiaras and feather boas before the photo op, and at the finish we got our medals put on by shirtless firemen, got a rose and a glass of champagne.

Divas bling

The week before Divas, I got all my scheduled runs in.  The week after, a combo of finishing up the sickies, appts, etc, I didn't get them done.  So was somewhat dreading this past weekend-Baltimore Running Festival, doing the marathon relay.

I was pleasantly surprised though-I did an ok time for my 7 miles.  At times, was surprised at not only how good I felt, but how fast I was running.  Would look down at my garmin and see anywhere from a 10:15-11:30 pace...and would have to tell myself to back off as I didn't think I could sustain that pace for an extended period.  I'm looking forward to getting on with more training runs this week!!

Enjoyed the marathon relay in the respect of I got to run part of the marathon course that I didn't see last year since I did the half.  I think I'd like to do the Baltimore full next year(need a full set of medals...got the half and relay so far lol...which also means I'll be doing the Frederick half again next year so I can get my BIG Maryland Double medal for both races).  I didn't like it for the standing around and waiting(and poor Kristin who was runner #4 had the worst of it).

Team Relay Medal...All 4 Won, Won for All

I realized something after taking pics of my medals...I desperately need to clean my sewing room, so I can paint it, and hang up my medals.  Right now, I'm not entirely sure where they all are:x
