Back at the gym-week 1

I've been a bit of a slug for several months-far too long.  Life challenges, along with being a wee bit burned out from 5 marathons in 7 weeks, bookended at the start with a double half weekend, and capped of with another half.  Not an excuse persay, just what happened. There is however truth to 'use it or lose it'....boy oh boy, did I lose it(and NOT weight lol).  However the good thing is that it DOES come back quicker and get easier(sshhh don't let Scottie see this or she'll make it not easier next week).

I know that motivation was lacking, so I set up a training session with a personal trainer, Scottie.  She's a fitness competitor and runner, so thought she would be a good fit.  I drug Christy along with me as well.  I want to get back in good shape-actually better.  And I want to increase my speed for running and hopefully PR in a race later this year.  Scottie says we'll build muscle, and we WILL get faster.

I'm calling week 1 back a success.  On Monday, we met with Scottie, asscrack early, and did weight training.  I DID feel by the end like I could puke-but didn't.  I drug myself back there on Tues and Wed, just a light bike ride, moreso to get myself back in the habit of getting to the gym by 0545.  Thur we did PiYo in the evening(that's my FAVORITE class, and I look forward to seeing the progress again that I know I had made when I went regularly before).  And this morning(Sat) met up with Christy again, we did the weight routine that Scottie had us do on Monday, and capped it off with 1 mile on the treadmill with our rucks and bricks(gotta get ready for our GORUCK Light next month).

Scottie said to take pics in  shorts and a sports bra because she said we'll see a change fairly quickly, so that's what I did.  And to hold myself accountable, I'm putting that picture out there for all to see.
I WAS sore for a couple of days(and that was part of the reason I took it easy on the bike the 2nd and 3rd days), and while I DEFINITELY worked up a sweat this morning with the weights and ruck, I FEEL good today!!  Looking forward to working with Scottie, and training with Christy, and getting back on a good path.
