Week 2-still getting on track

Still getting back on track with the gym, running, and working out.  Did good and made it 5 outta 7 days again(which is my goal).  My body is definitely getting used to the early wake ups again-though it'll be even earlier on Mondays as Scottie(our trainer) bumped up our time to 0515!

For the week, got in a couple of weight workouts, and a couple of training rucks on the treadmill.  Bricks are heavy.  Hit what is normally PiYo on Thurs night again, usual teacher was out, so we had a straight Pilates class-my first one, not my favorite and I won't seek it out.

On Sat, I opted to sleep in ever so slightly(0600 vice 0500) and just use the Leatherneck 5K as my workout.  I did the entire race with my bricks in my ruck-and initially had intended to just walk as I'm still mainly trying to get used to the weight, but I actually ran(albeit it slowly) the majority of it.

As I was slower, and thus towards the back, and taking walk breaks, a woman with a dog was chatting me up a bit, and asked if this was my first time, I told her no, it was the 3rd time I'd done this particular race.  She asked if I was running anything else, I said well I don't have anything immediate lined up(a couple in the fall), but that I do run through marathon distance and told her how many marathons and halfs so far.  I then also said I was training for a GORUCK and that's why I had the ruck with bricks in it.  That garnered a 'you're crazy' from her lol. Well, I reckon I've been called worse lol.  I did learn though, your body uses muscles differently when you add extra weight.  I was definitely feeling it after the race, last night, and today.

Hot and sweaty after the Leatherneck 5k

They also had navy blue and burgundy shirts....ummm Marines race, green was the way to go!!

nice medal for a 5k
Bring on week 3!!!
