Cadence

I decided to try running with cadence-like the military when they run in formation. I searched around and found a couple of CDs and ordered them from Amazon. I got a mix of all the branches and special communities, as well as a general Navy one. I used the mix today for my run. It was just about one of my fastest paces-which is surprising because I didn't feel like it was that great of a run, I guess the cadence really does work. I could tell at certain times in the run, that the cadence helped me get in a rhythm and stay on a nice pace.

I also have been noticing that my overall average pace(of ALL my runs since I started using the tracker in July) has steadily been dropping. I looked at the month by month comparison and I've knocked over 2 minutes off my pace per mile since July. Some days I don't feel like I'm progressing much, and I vary the distance I run based on how I feel, the weather, etc. which makes me feel bad some days-I KNOW I can run a 5K and a 10K, so I feel like a slacker if I only run a mile and a half, or only 2 miles. But looking at like that, I AM progressing nicely. I also was able to see how many miles I ran per month-Sept was a major month with over 50 miles(that was when I did the 1/2 Marathon), Oct was a little lower, but that included 10 days off because of my foot. I'm on track this month to hit close to 50 with another 1/2 on Thanksgiving weekend.

July-12:44/mile
August-12:11/mile
September-11:43/mile
October-10:49/mile
November(to date)-10:36/mile

Is this where I be an ass and say DH has run over 500 miles. I am not sure if that is this month or a few months though. I can't remember and his ass is out at a Toadies concert @@

I am so impressed with your running, Moose. It is very inspiring. I have got to get my running shoes back on again. I have wussed out with the cold weather and the dark in the mornings.

You look GREAT! I am so inspired by your hard work and attitude.

PS Love the title of your blog. My baby's favorite toy's name is Moose Munch. :-) It is a (surprise surprise) moose. I'll have to post a picture of him soon.
